On June 27th, China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group Co. Ltd Peru Branch held a seminar on the development of China's high-speed rail with the Confucius Institute at Ricardo Palma University in Peru, which aroused enthusiastic response from the faculties and students.

It is the first time that China's large state-owned enterprises enter Peruvian universities. Shi Zeyu, the commercial representative of China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group Co. Ltd Peru Branch illustrated the modern enterprise system, enterprise evolution and global influence of Chinese enterprises with the example of China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group Co. Ltd and introduced the development of high-speed railway and rail transit in China and the powerful promotion and driving effect of "metro economy" on urban development.

This in-depth and informative lecture allowed Peruvian students to have an intuitive understanding of China's economic development and high-speed rail technology, and demonstrated good brand images of Chinese-funded enterprises.

Franco Quiros, a student majoring in Chinese and Spanish translation at the School of Humanities and Modern Languages of Ricardo Palma University, said that China's high-speed rail technology is developing rapidly and is becoming a global leader in this regard. Peru's rail transport is relatively backward, so there is much room for cooperation between two countries in science and technology. “I hope to use the knowledge I have learned to participate in such cooperation in the future.”

Yang Cuiying, Chinese Director of Confucius Institute at Ricardo Palma University, said that in recent years, with the comprehensive development of China-Peru economic and trade relations, an increasing number of Chinese companies have chosen to invest in Peru, and the number of young Peruvians who are keen to learn Chinese is on the rise. Ricardo Palma University is the only university in South Africa to produce professionals in Chinese and Spanish translation. Students in the school are aspiring to become a bridge of friendly exchanges between China and Peru.

It is reported that currently there are over 170 Chinese-funded enterprises investing in Peru, with a cumulative investment of more than 18 billion US dollars (about 119 billion RMB).
