The party consisted of various performances, including singing, dancing, poetry recitation, playing of guzheng, bamboo flute and diabolo. At the party, the volunteer teachers presented some great shows. Their bamboo flute solo was euphonic and their diabolo show won high praise from the audience. The guzheng playing of Evening Singing in the Fisher Boat was elegant and beautiful. Huayno, a native dance from Peru’s mountain areas, won thunderous cheers. What’s more, the teachers at the Confucius Institute presented a novel fashion show: Splendid China. Dressed in cheongsam, holding in hands Chinese knots, oiled paper umbrellas and Chinese paintings with distinctive Chinese characteristics, the teachers appeared briskly in melodious music. Very much impressed, the audience exclaimed, “Beautiful!”
