Chinese Culture Experience Courses of the Confucius Institute at the College of the Bahamas Successfully Concluded in Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology

From July 2nd to July 14th, 2018, a series of Chinese culture experience courses of the Confucius Institute at College of the Bahamas successfully concluded in Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. More than twenty teachers and students from University of the Bahamas received intensive training in Chinese language and participated in Chinese culture experience.

As the partner university in jointly running the Confucius Institute at University of the Bahamas, Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NUIST) prepared meticulously for these Chinese culture experience courses and selected first-rate lecturers to offer not only Chinese language courses but also a rich variety of cultural courses such as Chinese Kungfu, Chinese Tea Art, Calligraphy, Paper Cutting, Festival Lantern Making, Sugar Figurine, Jade Art, Peking Opera Facial Painting, Chinese Painting, etc.

NUIST also arranged for the participants to visit popular cultural sites in Nanjing such as the Confucius Temple, Ancient East Gate and Najing Historical Museum. The participants not only improved their Chinese proficiency, but also learned and experienced authentic traditional Chinese culture. They all remarked that they learned profusely from these excellent courses which left them a lifetime impression.

On July 14th, upon the successful conclusion of the series of Chinese culture experience course, the participants were awarded their certificates for completing the courses by Prof. Ma Tinghuai, Dean of the College of International Students of NUIST and Prof Fan Yong, Chinese Co-Director of the Confucius Institute at University of the Bahamas who photoed with all the participants to celebrate the occasion.

According the next stage of the schedule, the participants of the Chinese culture experience program will tour Beijing and Shanghai to have further in-depth experience of the profound Chinese Cuture.
