President of Republika Srpska Chooses CI at University of Banja Luka as One of His Most Important Achievements

Office of the President of Republika Srpska chose the Confucius Institute at University of Banja Luka as one of the most important achievements during his 8- year term as the President. The Confucius Institute at University of Banja Luka was invited to participate in the making of documentary on 3rd July, 2018.

Home Director Ljiljana Stevic and Chinese Director Cai Ying gave the statement on the CI work and professor Gao Yang introduced various groups of students and teaching methods this CI applies.

When the journalist asked about the cooperation between PR China and Republika Srpska, the Home Director Ljiljana said that economic cooperation is continuing and the cultural cooperation is the real proof of friendship between the two people and the CI is the prove of that. Studying Chinese will enable young people to improve their knowledge of China and different culture and open them new possibilities in cooperation with Chinese companies.

Chinese Director Cai Ying

Chinese Director Cai Ying mentioned that with the support and help from the government of Republika Srpska, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hanban, Tianjin University of Technology and Education and University of Banja Luka, etc. it was a real pleasure to work with the dedicated colleagues at the CI. She also stated that the establishment of the CI is a proof of the friendship between not only the universities but also the two countries. The CI is serving as a platform to promote the cooperation in various aspects between the two countries.

Professor Gao Yang

Professor Gao Yang gave a brief introduction on the courses and various cultural activities offered by the CI. She said that CI was giving lectures to the students from kindergarten, primary school, grammar school, Chinese enterprise and university etc. and that CI was also offering a cultural course, Taichi, to the local people. In the near future, CI would offer more courses to meet the need of the people here.

Besides shooting the cultural materials showed at the cultural corner, including tea sets, Guqin，books and so on, the journalists also asked the Chinese director Cai to play Guqin and Professor Gao Taichi as a presentation of CI activities. The documentary short film will also be made for CI use and will be released in September.
