Explanation to the Training Program for the Localized Chinese Language Teachers Overseas

This program trains localized Chinese language teachers for foreign Chinese teaching institutes through a joint training by both Chinese and foreign universities. The training targets at juniors majoring in Chinese language in foreign universities who are supposed to be trained in China for 1 -2 years with contents including courses such as the ontological knowledge of Chinese language, knowledge and acquirement of the Chinese culture, teaching methods of Chinese language, comparison between Chinese and foreign languages and multi-cultural communication. The training aim is the ability to communicate in Chinese independently and skillfully, to master some methods of Chinese language teaching and to assume the local Chinese language teaching task. At present, countries that have launched this program include: Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippine.
