Elementary and Secondary School Bases for the International Promotion of Chinese Language
In order to give full play of the local government's and schools' function in the international promotion of Chinese language, a group of middle and primary school bases for the international promotion of Chinese language is established throughout the nation in particular.
The major tasks of the elementary and secondary school bases for the international promotion of Chinese language are to support foreign partner schools establish Chinese language courses, Confucius courses and send Chinese language teacher and volunteers abroad. Besides, the tasks involve the training of foreign Chinese language teachers and the training and probation of the volunteers. They also receive the postgraduates' probation from the major of international education of Chinese language and students from foreign elementary and secondary schools to learn Chinese here. And they will hold the summer camping for foreign students, develop the course of Chinese as a foreign language and so on.
Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) has currently set up 107 elementary and secondary school bases for the international promotion of Chinese language in 26 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) around the country.
